I'm surprised, humbled, grateful and excited that my best show of the year ended up being the one I traveled the least distance to hold! I'm deeply honored that my friends are willing to trade some of their time and money to enjoy fine art. This show was the first time I've ever been able to display the full range of my artistic offerings in a single venue - original drawings and paintings, limited edition bronze, limited edition giclees, and greeting cards. This was also the first event I've ever catered (I'm spoiled now, too, let me tell you)! The images from this event are so large, I've created a separate webpage for them. If you'd like to see the panorama images of the setup in my home, please follow this link. |
No rain this year, YAY! But you'll notice that I'm taking no chances
- I have my waterproof plastic clipped over the top of my canopy!

Metal Arts Festival website.

After last year's experience with mold and mildew, I've decided to save my lovely wooden pedestals for indoor shows only... hence the new look for outdoor shows with the new weather resistent pedestals |
The show organizers selected one of my sculptures for the publicity materials! I hung one of the posters under the piece featured on the literature, so visitors would know that yes, this is the one! |
We just met a few minutes ago, but decided we must be long-lost members of the same Hawaiian tribe. You can tell because of the matching clothes! |

There were SO MANY good photos&stories from this event that I decided to create a whole webpage for the photo journal. If you're interested in seeing scenes from the setup, the overall show, and the teardown process, follow this link.

| Shaun Stevens, the morning meteorologist for Fox29
TV in San Antonio came out early on Friday morning as the first
of the artists arrived to set up. I got in front of the camera for
about 45 seconds with Shaun, and Shaun played with my sculptures during
his next two segments as well! On Saturday, the event started off
shaky, with some of the first rain we've had in the area for weeks.
I discovered my tent was not waterproof, but with the help of my fellow
artists, I was able to cover my canopy with some clear plastic, held
on with borrowed clamps. With that minor disaster dealt with, the
rest of the show went smoothly. Lots of people came from near and
far. By the way, if you can't find Gruene on the map, it's the Historic District of New Braunfels. Check the Texas Metal Arts Festival website for the map. |

BY THE WAY, if you want some pedestals like mine, Bert can build you
some!
You can customize the size, kind of wood, and delivery schedule with him!
Just send me an email or give me a call, and I will give you Bert's contact
info.
